Responsibilities

(A) Regional and Domestic Equities, with focus on Institutional mandates

  • Construct investment portfolios consistent with objectives of clients/ mandates and manage investment process to assure consistency of analysis and buy/sell discipline.
  • Manage and co-manage Asean equity mandates (the flagship Asean unit trust and pension funds) to out-perform benchmarks and achieve Top-3 peer group rankings on 1-year and 3-year basis.
  • Co-manage unit trusts to out-perform benchmarks and achieve the highest peer group rankings in top 2 quartiles.
  • Co-manage separately manage account platform under partnership with Axial for the regional equities exposure. Ensure successful execution of these mandates in accordance to the IMAS.
  • Provide clients with materials, including reports, analyses and phone calls, about economic conditions in general and specific markets as related to their portfolio. Personally visit clients and consultants as requested to explain Company's investment strategy.
  • Monitor and provide coaching to junior portfolio managers.
  • Prepare manager reports and other necessary reports for respective funds under management.

 

(B) Malaysia and Regional Research

  • Prepare monthly Malaysia and ASEAN strategy for the team.
  • Active idea generation/research for ASEAN and Malaysia markets for the team.
  • Provide the asset/ sector allocation decision.
  • Attend conferences where required.

 

(C) Others

  • Provide coaching to junior team members.
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities and special projects as required.

Qualifications

  • At least a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting & Finance, or other related fields
  • License holder for Capital Markets Service Representative (CMSLR) issued by Security Commission
  • Minimum 10 years of portfolio management experience
  • Knowledge of sophisticated investment vehicles, comprehensive understanding of Company's investment strategy and philosophy, business acumen, analytical, superior judgement, and total rate of return mentality
  • Must be a broad strategic thinker and demonstrate understanding of economies and investment theories as well as his/her thought process
  • Ability to build strong client and consultant relationships.
  • A strong team player and willing to lead a team
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Possess a high degree of integrity
